RFID related terms

• radiating frequency: generally refers to microwave. 

• micro-wave: electromagnetic wave with wave length of 0.1 -- 100 cm or frequency at 1 -- 100GHZ. 

• electronic tags: store tags identifying object code in the form of electronic data, also known as rf CARDS. 

• passive electronic tags: electronic tags with no internal power source and working by receiving microwave energy. 

• active electronic tags: tags that work with internal battery power. 

• microwave antennas: used to transmit and receive microwave signals. 

• readout device: used to read electronic data in electronic tags. 

• reader: used to read electronic data within an electronic tag. 

• programmer: used to write electronic data to an electronic tag or to view stored data within an electronic tag. 

• beam range: refers to the range of irradiated power of the antenna emitting microwave. 

· tag capacity: the number of bytes or logical digits that an electronic tag can write when programmed.
